According to the results of the Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency national contest arranged by the Ministry of Economic Development and Commerce in cooperation with The Federal Education Agency, Belgorod State University has become one of the winners three times. This fact is evidence of the good social activity level of the University.
The University authorities strive for providing the students and the faculties with comfortable living conditions, stable financial position and plenty of opportunities for entertainment and improving health of both teachers and students. Every year at our university various social activities are implemented aimed at increasing the teachers’ salaries, building houses for teachers, caring for children and the elderly, preparing recreational facilities for summer holidays, and providing the staff with social security benefits.
Students of BelSU
The campus comprises eight dormitories located on three sites, with a total capacity of 3,267 beds today. It is home to undergraduate and graduate students from Russia, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Burundi, Ghana, Egypt, India, Jordan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, China, Colombia, Nigeria, Syria, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and other countries. Students are housed in two- and three-room dormitories, each designed for two or three people. All dormitories have Wi-Fi, well-equipped kitchens, laundry and ironing facilities.
The dormitories are monitored by a private security service and equipped with a modern fire alarm and emergency notification system, as well as underground spaces that provide protection against drone attacks or missile threats for the safety of residents.
The campus boasts sports facilities for physical education and sports, including a fitness center, tennis court, gym, intellectual sports development center, and a dance hall. The Church of the Archangel Gabriel and the Svetlana Khorkina BelSU Educational and Sports Complex harmoniously fit into the unique architectural ensemble. The BelSU campus, with its flower beds and uniquely designed embankment, is a wonderful place not only for student accommodation but also for walks and outdoor recreation.
The campus administration strives to unite the multinational student body and foster a sense of pride in their Alma Mater.

One of the conditions for the harmonious development of the individual and the preservation of the health of students and staff at BelSU is public catering, which is a significant component in creating a comfortable learning and working environment.
BelSU has created conditions for the proper, balanced nutrition of students and staff. Cafeterias and buffets throughout the university offer hot dishes, salads, pastries, juices, fruit drinks, mineral water, hot beverages, and steamed dietary meals.
Vending machines are installed in the academic buildings for the convenience of students and staff.
Catering Service at BelSU
The Belgorod State University Outpatient Clinic has been operating to provide high-quality, qualified, and accessible treatment and preventive medical care to students, staff, and their families, as close as possible to their places of study and work since 2005. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and highly effective laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, apparatus, and tools.
The qualified faculty of the Institute of Medicine provides consultations. The 6P principle is implemented: a personalized and patient-centered treatment program tailored to each patient's individual needs, a predictive and preventative approach to identifying diseases in the early stages, and the development of individualized prevention programs aimed at preventing illness before it occurs.
The outpatient clinic includes a general (family) practice department and a diagnostic center, including a clinical diagnostic laboratory, a bacteriology laboratory, a functional diagnostics department, an endoscopy department, an X-ray department, and a computed tomography department.
Health Centre
A pharmacy opened at the university, which has since developed into the BelSU Pharmacy Educational and Scientific Complex (BSU Pharmacy ESC) in 2005. In addition to providing pharmaceutical services, the BelSU Pharmacy ESC serves as a training and production facility for the Pharmacy program at the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Biology and the BelSU College of Medicine.

The Botanical Garden of Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU) was established by decree of the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Evgeny Stepanovich Savchenko, in 1999.
The botanical garden is home to over 2,500 plant species and varieties, including endemic, relict, rare, and endangered species listed in the Red and Green Books of Russia and the Belgorod Region. The plant collections are based on several key principles: phytogeographic, taxonomic, and phytoexpositional.
The Botanical Garden of BelSU was included in the database of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in 2013 as a unique infrastructure facility, thanks to the dedicated work of the botanical garden's staff in developing a plant collection, studying them, and preparing intellectual property protection documents.
The Belgorod State University Botanical Garden Research and Education Center (BSU Botanical Garden) was established within the botanical garden in 2016. It is one of the few active plant introduction centers in the Central Chernozem Region and a unique socio-cultural and educational center for the region. The BSU Botanical Garden Research and Education Center is a member of the International Association of Botanical Gardens of the World for Plant Conservation and the International Lilac Society (ILS).
Botanical Garden
The Winter Garden of Belgorod State University was founded in 2002.
It is a 452-square-meter greenhouse located 20 meters above ground level. The greenhouse was designed to provide optimal lighting, temperature, humidity, and nutritional conditions for plants from various ecological and geographical zones. The plant collection comprises over 350 species from 250 genera and 70 families, including rare relict plants. The collection includes plants of various life forms, most of which are herbaceous (including banana), as well as shrubs and trees. A special highlight of the tropical section of the garden is the paludarium: an aquarium with an artificially created semi-aquatic habitat for aquatic plants, including marsh and coastal plants, which rise significantly above the water's surface. Among these, the amphibian species is the great ribbed newt.
The Winter Garden houses five species of ornamental birds and approximately 20 species of fish in addition to the plant collection. The Winter Garden's special atmosphere is further enhanced by replicas of antique sculptures installed along the walls and decorative mini-fountains installed in the center.

There are many students with disabilities in BelSU. An accessible environment was created to help them get quality education.
The Ramp
According to “Accessible environment at BelSU” target program all buildings of the campus have wheelchair ramps, infomats adjusted for partially sighted, toilets and elevators for wheelchair users.
The most suitable dormitory for students with disabilities is dormitory №5, maximally equipped with ramps, special elevators, etc.
The university implements special programs for adaptation of educational process, social life, sports and cultural activities. The students with disabilities can get necessary medical help in BelSU Health Centre.
