The 8th FIEP European Congress, devoted to the 90th Anniversary of one the most respected international organizations in the area of physical education, took place in the Comenius University (Bratislava, Slovakia).
Representatives of the Belgorod National Research University “BelSU”, including: Professor Fedor Sobyanin, Russian Federation national representative in FIEP and chairman of the BelSU Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training; assistant professor Igor Nikulin, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture; assistant professor Lyudmila Buraya, chairman of the BelSU Department of Pedagogy and Physical Culture, among other delegates from 46 countries took part in the congress.
Professor Bronislav Antala, president of the FIEP European Association, and other officials welcomed the guests. 227 participants of the congress presented their reports at the plenary and affiliated meetings. Igor Nikulin, Dean of the BelSU Faculty of Physical Culture, also made a report in English.
According to Igor Nikulin, Belgorod Delegation participated in all events of the congress, began preparations of the Cooperation Contract with the Comenius University, established contacts with the journalists, working in the electronic database Scopus, and delegates from Slovakia, Serbia, Venezuela, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland. One of the most important results of the negotiations was Bronislav Antala’s agreement to visit Belgorod National Research University with his lectures in 2014.
The participation in the 8th FIEP European Congress expanded Belgorod teachers’ knowledge of the physical culture status in the global community, trends in Higher Professional Physical Education, new physical specialists training methods. During the congress Belgorod delegation collected valuable information about educational process characteristics in Slovakia, Lithuania and other countries. This will contribute to further improvement of the educational process in Belgorod National Research University.
