Vladimir Kulikovskiy presented a new Program for the MI Development to the University Expert Council. From his perspective the Institute's social mission is to prepare sufficient numbers of medical personnel for the regional healthcare. The Program sets a layout for reaching a higher level of efficiency that will permit to compete successfully in Russian and global markets of educational services and innovative scientific research on healthcare.
The MI offers eight graduate programs in Medicine and Pharmacy and fifteen programs for secondary vocational education and training. The Institute announced plans to increase the number of programs, acquire their social accreditation, and provide academic mobility of students and faculty. Prof. Kulikovskiy underlined that increasing the number of students enrolled at the MI, elaborating programs for students intended for definite jobs after graduation and developing contract base training programs for such students and organizations interested in them remain primary objectives to date.
Prof. Oleg Polukhin, the Rector of Belgorod State National Research University, expressed his conviction that it is vital to continue developing the quality of medium-level medical personnel training and boost the number of students in these courses. The members of the Expert Council discussed the potential and possibilities of founding on the basis of the MI of a state-of-the-art Science and Education Complex, comprising Center of Manual Skills, an innovative Cell Technologies Center, Pharmaceutical Cluster Technology Park, and a Center for Health Care Practitioners Certification and Accreditation. The complex will prepare the ground for further progressive development of the Belgorod Region in the field of emerging knowledge-intensive medical technologies.
