Eight faculty members of BelSU Institute of Law have successfully completed the course of Fundamentals of Mediation in the University’s Centre for Mediation.
Mediation is a settlement of a dispute or controversy by setting up a neutral part (an independent person(s)) between two or more contending parties in order to aid them to move through the issues and settle their disagreement. Based on his/her background experience, expertise, skills and using various techniques to increase understanding and enhance the dialogue between disputants, Mediator functions as a facilitator to enable the parties to resolve the difficulties for themselves.
From now on qualified Mediators can assist to amicable dispute resolutions as enacted by the Federal Law of the Russian Federation no.193 of 27-07-2010 “Concerning Alternative Dispute Resolution, with Involvement of an Intercessor (the Mediation Process)”.
Founded in 2013, the BelSU Centre for Mediation is intended to conduct the mediation process either in or out of judicature.
