Members of the BelSU Cross-cultural communication club took part in the meeting with Connor Word, a teacher from the Emerald Cultural Institute Language School (Ireland).
This meeting was a part of the visit of the teachers from the Emerald Cultural Institute Language School to Belgorod State University. BelSU works closely with the Emerald Institute, and every year teachers from Ireland visit Belgorod to give lectures, seminars and master classes in the English language.
This time the meeting was held by Connon Word, a teacher from the Language School. Speaking on Irish traditions and festivals, he noted that Halloween was Ireland's most known festival over the world. Some traditional Irish festivals are similar to Russian ones: to his mind, traditional All Hallows' Eve fruit cake has a lot of common with kulich, Russian Easter bread.
It was the third time Connor visited Belgorod and he is no stranger to many BelSU students and teachers.
«People in Belgorod are very friendly. During the visit, I noted amiability and decency of people around me,” said Connor.
And his Belgorod students took this meeting as a chance to tell Connon more about festivals and traditions in Russia.
