Within the SCO University framework

In May 2015, IX Week of Education of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States "Education without Borders" will be held at Belgorod National Research University – one of the head universities of the SCO network University.

First Vice-Rector of BelSU Tatyana Balabanova and Head of International Relations Office Mikhail Trubitsyn took part in VIII Week of Education of SCO Member States "Education without Borders", which was held at Altai State University (Barnaul).

The forum was organized with participation of representatives from more than 70 universities of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. The participants summed up the results of the SCO activities for the 2013/2014 academic year, discussed current problems and adopted ​​recommendations for development in all areas of activities of this educational organization for the next reference period, while keeping the focus on further developing the SCO’s strategy through to the year 2025.

According to Vladimir Filippov, Rector of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, SCO University will be accelerated by increasing the number of programmes to be run.

Within the framework of the Forum, an extended meeting of the Council of the SCO University Head Universities’ Rectors took place. Since 2009, Belgorod National Research University is the Organization’s head university in the Nanotechnology priority area.

At the meeting Tatyana Balabanova, First Vice-Rector of BelSU, spoke of prospects for further cooperation within the SCO framework.

The next, X Week of Education of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States "Education without Borders", will be held at Belgorod National Research University.

Note: The SCO University is currently the largest interstate educational project carried out in Eurasia. Jointly-run specialist training is conducted in five areas: Nanotechnology, Regional studies "Ecology, Energetics, IT-Technologies, Economics, and Pedagogy. Following appropriate international agreements, Belgorod National Research University has a right to perform educational activities in above listed areas.
