BelSU postgraduate Sergei Shevchenko planted flags of BelSU, Belgorod and the Belgorod region, and an icon Saint Ioasaf on the highest mountain of the South America – Aconcagua in Andes. It is 6970 meters high. The expedition became a part of a program for winning of the seven highest mountains in the world. It went from the 24th of December 2014 till 14th of January 2015 on an Argentina and Chili border. Sergei Shevchenko worked in one team with five Russian and two American mountain climbers, one of which was famous Jerrie Belvar. During the expedition, they should overcome not only mountains, but also the weather conditions: strong and hurricane winds. Eventually, at the 5th of January, only Sergei and three other Russians won the mountain top. Note: this climbing became the 70th one for Sergei Shevchenko. As a mountain climber, he visited 16 mountain regions of the planet and 30 countries.
