The team of BelSU Institute of Law took part in Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition – the largest and most prestigious moot competition in the world.
The Competition is held since 1959. About 3 000 students from more than 600 Law Schools of 90 countries take part in it annually. The moot competition performs in the form of a game a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Judges at the moot are representatives of worldwide Law firms, teachers of the leading universities and professional international judges. All stages of the competition are in English language. The theme of 2015 moot is interpretation maintenance of international treaties, the question of responsibility of countries in international law. The BelSU Institute of Law team consisted of: postgraduate Alexandros Pasenov, student of the 5th year Mohammed Sanka and student of the 4th year 4 Tenyola Akinbodeva. They won 3 ranks of 4 possible and took 15th place. “Our students lack experience, but we’re only at the beginning of our way”, – said Prof. Elena Safronova, Doctor of Judicial Science, coach of BelSU team.
