Eugeniy Savchenko: “Biology is an endless realm of possibilities”

Eugeniy Savchenko himself held a meeting at BelSU. He urged scientists of the university to enter the pharmaceutical market more actively with their technologies and drugs. The RMC, created on the base of BelSU will help to replace imported drugs with home ones. "We have all possibilities for the development of new drugs, but we need support in creation of large united businesses", - answered Oleg Polukhin, the principal of BelSU. The governor promised a support and noted that business should be interested in such cooperation with science. "We plan to enlarge the production of food stuff three times, and we can't possibly achieve it without new technologies", - said Eugeniy Savchenko. He has also noted that even now Belgorod region produce 980 kilos of meat per head in one year. It's five times more than in USA. Probiotics will help to enlarge an overall production level and improve production quality. One of it, created by BelSu scientists is tested now. The university will also provide biotechnological industry with manpower. Olga Lebedeva, the dean of BelSu Biochemical Department told that the department prepares specialists in all fields: biotechnologists, microbiologists, chemists, ecologists etc.
