The delegation of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations visited the University-partner Sophia Antipolis in Nice (France) as a part of the academic mobility (sandwich) program realized due to the agreement between the universities signed in 2014.
Director of the Institute Olga Prokhorova, Deputy Director of the Institute for Science and International Affairs Jerome Bagana, Head of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication Vladimir Pugach, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication Irina Kuprieva visited the Department of English and Foreign Literature, the Laboratory of Corpus Linguistics led by Madame Deferal, who showed the delegation the results of the work of linguists and IT-specialists, as well as unique programs processing and ascertaining linguistic facts. The colleagues discussed the possibility of scientific cooperation for joint research projects and participation in international grants.
During the visit, Olga Prokhorova spoke about the Belgorod State University and informed the students who study Russian about the opportunities of the mobility program. The key event of the delegation's stay at the University of Sophia Antipolis was a meeting with Vice-Rector for International Relations M. Martan. During negotitions Mr. Martan particularly stressed the importance of cooperation with the Belgorod National Research University. On behalf of the President of the University he expressed a hope to expand the growing cooperation. In turn, Olga Prokhorova mentioned that the international academic mobility for students of language departments had always been of great importance. As a result of negotiations, the parties agreed to enlarge a number of students who can participate in the programs of academic mobility, to introduce double-degree Master's diplomas, and double scientific guidance for PhD degree.
In conclusion, our colleagues met with Russian students who study in Nice. They are future specialists in the field of translation. Students shared their impressions of studying abroad, the specific features of training and the opportunities they receive due to academic exchange.
