The Latin Language and Antique Culture Days were held in BelSU
The Days were opened with a Latin language and classic literature contest. It was dedicated to St. Isidore of Seville’s, the patron of Internet’s day. The contest tested students’ knowledge of Latin’s history, Ancient Roman literature and Latin grammar. It also tested their translation skills in translation from Latin to Russian. The next event was “A Science Day”. Freshmen of The Institute of Cross-cultural Communications and International Relations presented their research papers on Latin eloquent expressions, antique literature and historiographic sources. The festival was concluded with a Latin Language and Antique Culture Day. The students participated in debates about the destiny of Latin. The participants came to a conclusion, that even nowadays Latin is a living language.
