The 5th Jubilee International Scientific Conference, dedicated to the problems of religious sociology in postmodern society
The conference was coincided with 140th anniversary of Belgorod State University. Scientists from Belarussia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Chech Republic, France, Germany and Russia took part in it.
They were welcomed by the Provost for BelSU Education and Informatization Aleksandr Mamatov.
“This is a wonderful day. Today we open the jubilee conference and celebrate 139th anniversary if BelSU, Symbolically, the theme of today’s conference is in sync with our university’s mission. I wish a rewarding work to all participants and hope that we will meet again in a year to celebrate the great 140th anniversary”, – he said.
The RAS corresponding member, editor-in-chief of “Sociologicheskiye Issledovaniya” magazine Jean Toschenko.
“I should mention that one of the leading centers of religious sociology’s problem research is forming here. There is already some experience. I wish that your research will become a landmark for your colleagues”, – he said.
Vice president of Russian Sociologic Society Irina Sosunova has also taken part in conference. She said that the theme of the conference is very important, and discussed questions will help the society.
The most solemn moment of the conference was awarding of BelSU scientists with Russian Sociology Society medals.
After that, the participants went to discussion of the reports. Before his speech, the head of Belgrade Institute of Social Studies’ religious forum Mirko Blagoevich, Doctor of Social Studies, mentioned that there is a close cooperation between BelSU and BISS.
“Students from Serbia took part in BelSU “Pegasus” Project Management School, and in November we are waiting for two students from Institute of Management, whi will study in Belgrade”, – he said.
There was two panels, five round-table conferences, students’ session, presentation of ZIRKON project “Self-government in Old Believers’ Community”.
