BelSU presents “Smart City” project

At the extended meeting of Governor’s Council for development of Belgorod metropolitan area, the governor of Belgorod Region Eugeniy Savchenko said that innovational economics should be developed together with science: universities, scientific centers and project offices. Universities of Belgorod should generate startups, – their know-hows would be adopted by industrial facilities. He gave the cooperation between BelSU and Abbot company group, “Skif-M” and “Vladmiva” as an example of such scheme.

Vice rector for scientific work and automatization Aleksandr Mamatov presented the project of geoinformational analytical system “Smart Belgorod”.

“For effective management of functioning and growth of progressive Belgorod metropolitan area, we suggest to develop a universal informational platform, which can integrate various information about the city, make a statistic analysis, visualize it as graphics and distribute the results by special Web-GIS application”, – he said.

Geoportal would become a universal informational platform, which can integrate information about ecological condition, infrastructure and social life of Belgorod metropolitan area and provide digital interaction between community and local authorities.

Governor promised that regional government will support the project and reminded that modern management methods based on informational technologies are necessary in Belgorod metropolitan area.
