The graduate of BelSU became the world champion among amateurs as a part of Russian national team

The tournament was held in the homeland of this sport, in Guatemala, South America. 14 national teams have taken part in the tournament: Uruguay, Costa Rica, Canada, Guatemala, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Mexico, France, Morocco, India, Ecuador, Peru and Russia. Goalkeeper of the Russian national team was the graduate of BelSU Institute of Pedagogy Physical Education Department Denis Korshikov who once became the two-time champion of Europe in 2016 and 2017.

At a group stage our team has crushed Ecuador with the score 6:2 and has beaten Peru in a shootout (in soccer 7х7 it replace a penalty). For the right to get to the playoffs Russian national team has played an additional butt match with representatives of the USA, having sent to a grid of twelve unanswered goals.

In a quarterfinal Russians have overcome Costa Rica 2:1. The main and extra time of a semifinal duel with Mexico has come to the end in a draw 2:2, and in a shootout our compatriots – 3:2 were more successful.

In a final game Russia has beaten hosts of the tournament with the score 4:2 and became the world champion in first in the history 7х7 soccer championship.

It is planned that the World Cup among fans will be held every two years.
