The journalists met the writer, the president of the All-Russian public charitable foundation ‘Russian Children's Fund’, the academician of the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the director of the Research Institute of Childhood Albert Likhanov
The main topic of the conversation was the charity event ‘Give a chance to a child’ by the Russian Children's Fund. The key difference of the event is that the Fund, with the support of the three largest banks of Russia, will award certificates to the philanthropists with the commemorative coin of the Bank of Russia ‘Give Good for Children’.
The President of the Russian Children's Fund, Albert Likhanov, spoke about the priority programs, for which all collected funds will be allocated. First of all, these are the programs of the medical and social direction – ‘Children's Tuberculosis’, ‘Panda’ (an international project for the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy in China), ‘Gift of Life’ (children's heart surgery), ‘Deaf Children’. Secondly, there are programs to support children who made achievements in any area, in form of monthly financing of the child before they reach adulthood.
“I believe that we should find these ‘stars’, support their upbringing, help in every possible way. Every year, there should be more of such children”, said Albert Likhanov.
He and the first deputy chairman of the Belgorod regional Duma Alexander Sklyarov solemnly handed in scholarship certificates of the children's fund to Julia Chernova from the Prokhorovsky district, who saved her brothers and sisters from the fire and Maxim Gerasimov from the Valuisky district, who saved a classmate from falling into the water hatch.
After the delivery of certificates and parting words to the little heroes, Alexander Sklyarov thanked Albert Likhanov for all the good deeds done by the Foundation on the territory of the Belgorod region.
