BNRU Academic Council met before the new academic year

Rector of BNRU Prof. Oleg Polukhin presented a letter of gratitude to the Chairman of the Belgorod Regional Duma Vasily Potryasayev and Professor of Nature Management and Land Cadastre Department Fyodor Lisetsky.

The head of the university also awarded the diploma of the winner of the Vladimir Potanin scholarship program, aimed at supporting students and teachers of the master's program of leading Russian universities to assistant professor of psychology Maria Sitnikova. He congratulated Ms. Sitnikova on recognition of her achievements at the federal level and wished not to dwell on what has been achieved.

Members of the academic council approved candidates from among graduates of this year's university for presentation to ‘The worthy one/ medal – 11 students, representatives of all institutes and faculties, most worthily manifested themselves during all the years of training.

According to the rector, the university needs to form a generation of young scientists, so it is necessary to raise their own graduates who are ready to continue studying in graduate school, or to attract graduate students from other universities to graduate school. Members of the Academic Council approved the plan of measures.

The Acientific Council also considered and approved the Program of Development of BNRU as the city-forming scientific, educational, innovation and production and social and cultural center of the Belgorod Region. The deputy vice-rector for scientific and innovative activities Andrei Peresypkin, who introduced the program, said in his speech that this program is an annex to the key university program of increasing the competitiveness of BNRU among the world's leading scientific and educational centers for 2013-2017 and for the future until 2020.
