Cooperation with Serbia raised to a new level

Director of the Institute Zhivoyin Djurich and Assistant Director for International Cooperation Zoran Milosevic met the rector of BNRU Prof. Oleg Polukhin. Vice-rector for international cooperation Vladislav Kuchmisty, director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications Sergey Borisov, director of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations Olga Prokhorova, heads of profile departments and subdepartments took part in the conversation. The sides discussed new directions of cooperation between universities, which began in 2015.

Rector Oleg Polukhin thanked the Serbian guests for the visit and stressed the need to strengthen relations that will strengthen the positions of the two countries. He told about the history of BNRU, its achievements today and invited Serbian colleagues to join the Russian public organization ‘Byzantine Club’ that has already reached the international level, the branch of which was created in BNRU.

Director of the Institute for Political Studies Zhivojin Djuric said that the Serbian youth have a desire to get acquainted with the culture of Russia, and stressed that today's meeting is of a historic nature and brings cooperation to a new level, expanding the areas of interaction. The draft protocol on future joint activities includes participation in grant studies in the field of cultural studies, political science, sociology; publication of a joint magazine in Serbian, Russian, English; creation of an international interdisciplinary scientific and educational Center for Slavic Studies; organization of joint scientific conferences with subsequent publication of collections; development of academic mobility of scientific and pedagogical workers: lecture courses and internships for young teachers.

During the visit Serbian guests talked with representatives of the institutions of BNRU, got acquainted with the infrastructure of the university and took part in the celebrations dedicated to the Day of Belgorod.
