‘A wave of memory’ to the day of liberation of Belgorod

The meeting was opened by the Governor of the Belgorod Region Evgeny Savchenko.

“We praise that far, fateful, great day of August 5, 1943, when the Red Army liberated our city from the fascist yoke. We remember all those who liberated our native city. With deepest gratitude we are celebrating the survivors of the Victory", – said Evgeny Savchenko.

He also noted that the residents of Belgorod managed to create a beautiful city on the site of destruction and that by the 100th anniversary of the liberation of the city, Belgorod will become a world-class city.

‘The Wave of Memory’ event was attended by labor collectives of enterprises, institutions, organizations of the city, heads of the city administration and the region, deputies, clergy, as well as representatives of BNRU. The university administration, heads of institutes, departments, united trade union committee, teachers and employees laid wreaths, flowers and memorial complex ‘Eternal Flame’ and the stele ‘City of Military Glory’ with a minute of silence.
