Basketball players of BNRU are the best in the Championship of the region

The Championship took place in Belgorod. BNRU women's team performed in two age categories: 19 years and older (born in 1999 and older), 17-18 years (2000-2001). Athletes under the leadership of Igor Voronin did not leave opponents a chance.

In the age category 17-18 years, six teams took part. Competitions were held on a circular system. Having won five wins from five games and defeating the principal rival, the team of Belgorod, the girls took the first place. The team included Daria Poddubrovskaya, Alena Smirnova (both Pedagogical Institute), Anna Novikova (Medical college), Angelina Salamakhina (Stary Oskol branch of BNRU).

In the age category of 19 years and older, the competition was tougher. Competitions were held on the Olympic system (the participant is eliminated from the tournament after the first loss). Nine teams took part in them. Having beaten the combined team of BSTU and BKK in 1/4 finals and Valujki team in the semi-finals and defeating the team of the city of Korocha, the girls took the well-deserved 1 place.

In this age group played: captain of the team Ulyana Khudoteplaya (Medical Institute), Daria Poddubrovskaya, Alena Smirnova (both Pedagogical Institute), Anna Novikova (medical college).

These competitions have become one of the stages of preparation of our team for the trip to the super finals ASB 3x3, which will be held in Moscow on August 24-26, 2018.
