Student Welcome Committees Share Their Experience

A national conference of Student Welcome Committees took place in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the Government Initiative on promoting universities in Russia to overseas students, called 'Your Route – Russia'

Our delegates were Victoria Liu-Ku-Tan and Svetlana Nefyodova, both from the Pedagogical Institute. They were able to share tips on how to welcome overseas students, exchange their experiences with counterparts from other universities, and discuss activities and plans for the coming academic year. They were also able to take part in training and classes on developing professional competencies and improving teamwork.
Our delegates gave a presentation on last year's events, which included organising and conducting tours and excursions for first-year students, university applicants, and the participants of the 3rd International Youth Forum for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Universities, and other guests of the University. BNRU has recently joined 11 other universities in rolling out this scheme, which is led and supported by the staff of the University Museum.
