Scientific work of BelSU authors

In December, the collective work of the staff of BelSU Institute of Earth Sciences ‘Geographical Atlas of the Belgorod Region: Nature, Society, Economy’ was published. The publication was developed with the financial support of the All-Russian public organization ‘Russian Geographical Society’ in the framework of publishing grants.

The Institute of Earth Sciences of the Belgorod State University hosted a presentation of the Geographical Atlas of the Belgorod Region. This is the second revised and updated edition of the regional atlas.

Welcoming remarks were made by the head of the Grant project, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Andrei Kornilov. The authors of the publication told about the stages of creating an atlas and the information contained in it.

The atlas of the Belgorod region is aimed at university students, students of general educational institutions, as well as scientists and specialists in the field of earth sciences and related specialties. The publication was created as an integral result of the analysis of modern natural conditions and resources, the economy and the population of the Belgorod Region in their interrelations. It is both a scientific work and a reference book for the popularization of geographical knowledge and scientific support for the socio-economic development of the region.
