Educational Psychology in the Cyber Age

The Russian Academy of Education (RAE) hosted the conference, which, as well as our own, involved the Far Eastern Federal University, Tomsk State University, Moscow State University's (MSU) Faculty of Psychology, Moscow City Pedagogical University, Volgograd State Social Pedagogical University. The President of the RAE, Professor Yuri Zinchenko, emphasised that one of the important tasks in education, is to draw the attention of the Ministry of Education and Science to the importance of psychology research in education, our most important resource. Then Professor Vadim Grinshkun, from MSU, gave a presentation on digital education, using the success of the 'Moscow e-school' as an example. Senior Research Fellow Artem Kovalyov, working at the Perception Laboratory of MSU's Faculty of Psychology, spoke about applications for neuroscience in education. Finally, Dr Zitnikova gave a presentation on the results of a large-scale RAE project, a database of results from psychological research data from across Russia and the world. This resource will soon be available on the RAE site pending the completion of tests in a number of Regions. There were Q&As after each session, and the questions raised issues in all areas of education.
