Colleagues Lecture in the Netherlands

Dr Korolyova works at the Faculty of Social Work, and gave a series of lectures and seminars on the welfare system in the Russian Federation. She described the various roles played by the State, NGOs, and businesses, and outlined the sorts of social work projects currently in favour, and their impact. Dr Tyazhlov is a teacher at the Faculty of Journalism, and his lectures focussed on media projects developed by students at the Faculty on raising awareness of domestic violence, and promoting media literacy. He also discussed global trends in modern media and how journalists in Russia focus attention on social issues.

The lectures drew academics as well as students, and were warmly appreciated by all.
