Professor Oleg Polukhin, Rector of Belgorod State University, went to the National Permanent Exhibition Centre in Moscow, to brief the Prime Minister, Dmitri Medvyedev, on our role in this research centre project
Belgorod has been designated by President Putin as one of four Agricultural Research Centres in the Russian Federation. Our University will act as the coordinating organisation for this effort, which will involve all of the Region's leading Universities and Research Institutes, as well as leading agricultural companies. The Deputy Governor of our Region, Olga Pavlova, led a team which included our Rector, Dr Sergei Glagolev, Rector of Belgorod State Technical University, and industrialists from EFKO Group, Agro-Belogorie, Prioskolie, and Premix Plant No. 1.
The audience included the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Mikhail Kotyukov, Minister of Science and Higher Education, and Olga Vasilyeva, Minister of Education. When the time came, our Rector informed the guests of the role played by our university, emphasising our scientific research, and recalling our successes in this area to date. The project is called, 'Innovative Solutions in the Agricultural Sector', and will provide additional government support for viable ways to improve Russian agricultural outcomes.
This meeting took place as part of the 'Moscow Educational Salon', the largest educational conference in Russia. The Agricultural Research Centre stands were included among the 400 stands at the Salon, which is a major source of networking and fraternising with potential investors. Each stand represents a different technology or theme in contemporary Russian education.
