Dr Inna Shapovalova and Dr Sergei Lebedev, sociologists at Belgorod State University, lectured at a conference on 'Religious Changes in the Modern World'
The Belgrade Institute of Social Sciences hosted the event in Veliko Gradište, which was themed on 'Theoretical Assumptions and Empirical Evidence for Secularisation, Post-Secularisation and Religious Revival'. Dr Lebedev helped to organise the event, and Dr Shapovalova hosted a seminar on 'Serbian and Russian Society in Sociological Research', which was based on results from her major project, 'Social Strategies with Regional Youth: 2018'. It was one of the many events at the conference, which involved academics and experts from seven European countries. The topics covered were wide-ranging, from immigration and economics, to social media and art, but all had a religious element. The plenary session involved a joint presentation by Dr Lebedev and Dr Shapovalova, called 'Religion as a Reflection of Society'.
