Economic Security

The event was organised by the Department of Economics and Production Process Modelling, and drew 90 academics from across Russia and also from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Italy, and Ecuador. Alongside academics, there were business leaders and government workers. The event was opened by Professor Andrei Peresypkin, Vice-Rector for Strategy, who underlined the increasing need for protection against the disruption of vital industries by criminals and saboteurs of all stripes. His speech was followed by a presentation from Professor Anar Rzayev, from Azerbaijan State University of Economics, who stressed the problems faced by international trade in his talk on 'Azerbaijan's Economic Security in an Ever-Changing Global Market'. The conference then divided in groups to carry on discussing research findings, which will be published after the conference.
