Professor Andrei Peresypkin, Belgorod State University's Vice-Rector for Strategy, travelled to Moscow to meet with high-powered figures in Sino-Russian relations
The Russia Today International Information Agency hosted a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members entitled, 'Russia's Role in the Development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization'. Chief among those gathered for the meeting was Duma Deputy Denis Kravchenko, who is the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship. Among other attendees were Andrei Platonov, the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Dr Alexander Lukin, the Director of the Center for East Asian and SCO Studies at the Institute of International Studies (Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations), Denis Tyurin, the head of the Russian SCO Youth Council, Vladimir Padalko, the Director of the SCO Business Club, and Su Fanqiu from the Chinese Embassy.
The discussions centred on closer economic and cultural ties between China and Russia, and then Deputy Kravchenko announced that the 4th SCO Youth Forum would be hosted by our University, just like the previous three. He commended our effort to make the forum a success, and thanked the University for taking on the responsibility of representing Russia. The Forum will run from 30th May to 2nd June, and involve around 500 students.
