Belgorod State University helped mark the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, by organising an event devoted to the 'Spiritual and Moral Sources of the Great Russian Word'
The Centre for Civil and Patriotic Education hosted the event, which was organised by the Strakhov Scientific Library, and the Institutes of Engineering and Digital Technology. The participants, from across the University, were greeted by Dr Svetlana Ostrikova, Vice-Rector for Education and Youth Policy, who talked about the week of Slavic writing and culture events conducted around the University prior to this event. Dr Olga Anokhina then gave a presentation on the history of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, which united all Slavic peoples. Her story was accompanied by a video and presentation on the emergence of Slavic writing. She rounded off the evening with a call for young people to be proud of their cultural heritage, and to strive keep these traditions alive for future generations.
