The joint programs culminate with a period of lab work conducted in Belgorod or Groningen. The universities have been in partnership for 4 years already. Professor Olga Lebedeva, who leads the Biology and Chemistry Faculty, runs the program, and welcomed the latest delegation from the Netherlands, comprising of 3 teachers and 6 students.
This year's projects involved studying the effect of magnetic fields on tumour cell cultures, and the experimentation phase was conducted in our specialist laboratories. The other project concerned the antibacterial processes at work in a plant native to the chalk downs of Belgorod Region. Joint programs stimulate students, and allow them to express themselves outside their comfort zone.
