Bolivian Ambassador Visits

Ambassador Senzano took time before meeting the Rector to chat with the students about their experiences in Russia. After this, he and his assistant Irina Savinova, were shown round by the Rector and Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Vice-Rector for International Affairs. They met with Dr Nikolai Belousov, of the Medical Institute, who talked about the courses available to the students. The Rector explained that our University trains students from 90 countries, and gave the Ambassador a brief introduction to the history of Belgorod State University, and our rise through the rankings. He asked that the Ambassador support sending more students to us in disciplines other that medicine, that will help with the future engineering and scientific needs of Bolivia. He told the guests about a cooperation agreement signed with a Bolivian university, and how beneficial a partnership with us could be. He proposed the establishment of Russian Language Schools in Bolivia, under the supervision of our University, that would prepare Spanish speaking students. For his part, the Ambassador said that warmer ties between our two countries are evidenced by the presence of Gazprom and Rosatom in Bolivia. He said he would do what he could to promote ties.
