Belgorod State University's Council for Cross-Cultural Communication met to discuss plans for future engagement with all things foreign
Dr Elena Nazarenko, Director of the Centre for Cross-Cultural Communication, reported on the activities of the Centre in the last academic year, and wanted to organise more events in the coming year, on a larger scale. She has seen her Centre's program strengthen friendships between representatives of different faiths and nationalities. Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, said that the Centre was an important tool for the staff of the University to get to understand more about the cultures of many of their students. For an example, the Vice-Rector recalled a recent course at the Centre run by Dr Svetlana Kuznetsova, an expert in foreign relations, called, 'The Basics for Cross-Cultural Communication in the Multinational Environment of a Russian University', which resulted in 30 colleagues receiving a certificate.
