Knowledge Day Rally

The big celebration of the Knowledge Day at the Belgorod State Research University traditionally began on Preobrazhenskaya Street, next to the Sociology and Theology Faculty. A prayer service was held in the Transfiguration Cathedral of Belgorod before the start of the new school year. The service, which was held by Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, was attended by representatives of the university administration, faculty and students.

After the prayer, a traditional bright academic procession took place. Members of the academic council and graduate students of BelSU took part in it. Accompanied by a rector’s brass band, a ceremonial procession passed along the central streets of the city to Cathedral Square, where a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Eternal Flame memorial.

The final destination of the rally was University Square, where a lineup dedicated to Knowledge Day was held.
