Graduate student of BelSU became a participant in the XI international conference for young scientists "Mendeleev 2019"
The XI Mendeleev Congress on General and Applied Chemistry was held in St. Petersburg and brought together about four thousand participants from sixty countries of the world, including Nobel laureates, IUPAC leaders, heads of chemical societies and directors of leading scientific institutes. As part of the congress, a satellite event was held at the Institute of Chemistry of St. Petersburg State University - the XI international conference for young scientists “Mendeleev 2019”. BelSU was represented by Sergey Golovin, graduate student of the Department of General Chemistry of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology, who works in a research team led by Professor Olga Lebedeva.
“Our team is engaged in obtaining and studying the properties of layered double hydroxides, a class of inorganic compounds with a wide range of unique properties,” said Prof. Lebedeva.
A poster presentation made by Sergey Golovin at the conference was dedicated to the synthesis of a new compound of this class, first obtained and characterized by scientists of the Belgorod State University.
