The NRU “BelSU” entered the Times Higher Education international ranking agency's TOP-500. The ranking measures the impact of universities on the socio-economic development.
767 universities have been included in the final THE Impact Ranking 2020 ranking chart with 807 universities submitting their data. Last year, a total of 490 universities were evaluated. The significant increase in the ranking participation applications indicates its growing popularity.
The first position this year has been retained by the University of Auckland (New Zealand), with the following three places taken by Australian universities: University of Sydney, Western University of Sydney and University of La Trobe. Japan leads in the number of universities participating: 63 Japanese universities are represented in the ranking. Russia ranks second in terms of the number of participants: out of 49 universities that have applied, 47 are represented in the final chart. The NRU “BelSU” submitted information on four of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was included in the 401-600 group. In Quality Education (SDG 4) Belgorod State University has entered the TOP-100, sharing the 98th place with the Israeli University of Haifa and the Australian University of La Trobe. Among 47 Russian universities, the “BelSU” took 4th place in this category, rising from position 16-33, which it held among 33 Russian universities last year. In the “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” category (SDG 9), the “BelSU” has entered the 201-300 world universities and 11-18 Russian universities groups respectively. In the “Good Health and well-being” (SDG 3) and “Partnerships” (SDG 17) categories, Belgorod State University is included in the group 401-600. Among Russian universities the “BelSU” is included in group 11-36 in SDG 3 and in group 13-30 in SDG 17.
