May Language School held online at the NRU “BelSU”

The NRU “BelSU” Center for Foreign Language Education and Academic Writing holds the May Language School for university students annually. Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the School’s classes were held online this year. According to the Director of the NRU “BelSU” Center for Foreign Language Education and Academic Writing Larisa Tsurikova, the classes were effective, and 73 students have successfully completed the training.

- We received a lot of positive feedback from both students and teachers. We are planning on organizing the Summer language school in the same format, - said Larisa Vladimirovna.

According to the School teacher, Elena Markova, online classes have proven to be effective, as interactivity and possibility of a dynamic activities change captivates students and helps maintain interest in the studied language. Summing up the results of the May Language School at an online meeting with teachers and students, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of the NRU “BelSU” Alexander Mamatov noted that the organizers provided new opportunities for the development of the university language environment in difficult conditions.

- In Chinese, the word "crisis" consists of two characters, one of which means a threat, and the second - an opportunity. This situation has opened up new opportunities. I think most of the current practices, having proven their advantages, will start being used regularly after the pandemic, - emphasized Alexander Vasilievich.
