The articles by the leading researchers of BelSU Research Institute of Material Science and Innovative Technologies Rustam Kaybishev and Sergey Mironov dedicated to the frontier technology capable of making a revolution in aircraft, missile and ship building were published in one of the top-rated journals.
The article entitled “Friction Stir Welding / Metals and Alloys Working: Holistic Review of Microstructure Evolution) published in the top-rated journal “Progress in Materials Science” with the impact-factor value of 37 was written by BelSU professors Rustam Kaybishev and Sergey Mironov coauthored with preeminent material scientists from the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Belgium and Iran.
Sergey Mironov pointed out that the article presents a review of the cutting-edge research in friction stir welding.
According to the leading experts in this field, the main advantage of the technology consists in the possibility to produce solid welded metal joints which conventionally are considered to be nonweldable (in particular most of aluminum alloys used in aircraft building). Thus, this technology is expected to bring the aircraft and missile building to a new technological level.
As it was noted by Sergey Mironov, the acquired results summary and review given in the article will be of high value for the scientific community and engineers worldwide.
