“Information Hour” dedicated to prevention of extremism ideology was held at BelSU Centre for Intercultural Communication
The Centre for Intercultural Communication and BelSU Centre for Religious Studies and Extremism Prevention launched a joint project on counteraction of terrorism ideology in student and youth communities – a series of “Information Hours” events. Those will cover the issues of legal literacy and ways to foster rejection of the views or actions related to extremism or xenophobia.
The Head of the Centre for Intercultural Communication Olga Lutova and the Head of BelSU Centre for Religious Studies and Extremism Prevention Roman Shilishpanov conducted the first class for the international students via videoconferencing. The international students attending the “Information Hour” learned the definition of extremism as it is stipulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation, what actions are qualified as extremism. They were also reminded that ignorance of meaning of this notion and legal penalty for conflicts inciting is no excuse.
