According to the tradition on the New Year Eve the concluding conference agenda was dedicated to the passing year’s results and the goals for the upcoming year
BelSU Rector Oleg Polukhin who opened the conference noted that for the first time ever the conference was held via videoconferencing due to the pandemic. It involved 270 delegates from different university’s units and departments.
The participants discussed the preliminary results of research activities, development of the university’s infrastructure, the budget performance, approved the benefits plan for 2021 and set the goals for the future.
The Rector summed up the results of the year and underlined that the university continued to follow its progressive development path despite of the challenges of the passing year through competitiveness increase and strengthening international and national recognition.
Oleg Polukhin informed about the plans of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to launch the “Prioritet 2030” Program for the higher education system enhancement under the national project “Nauka. He announced the university’s willingness to participate in the program taking into account involvement in the REC “Innovative Solutions in Agribusiness” Program.
The traditional awarding ceremony for the staff granted for decorations by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, regional and municipal awards and BelSU honorary titles was held in the presentation format.
At the end of the conference the Rector expressed gratitude to the university’s fellow workers for the accomplished great work in 2020 and congratulated everyone with the New Year and Christmas and wished good health, happiness and prosperity to families.
