An online lecture “Russia in the Mirror of Modern Slovak Mass Media” was held at the Institute of Social Sciences and Mass Communications
The international scientific dialogue involving students and teachers was organized in the framework of the Year of Science and Technology. The lecture “Russia in the Mirror of Modern Slovak Mass Media” was delivered in English by Professor Olga Shkvareninova, the Faculty of Mass Media Communications of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (Slovak Republic). The Head of Journalism Division, Professor Andrei Polonsky and Associate Professor of Journalism Division Elena Vasilenko acted as moderators.
As it was noted by Andrei Polonsky, this meeting is the first in a series of joint scientific events planned for the beginning of the year in accordance with the program of cooperation between the Faculty of Journalism of BelSU Institute Social Studies and Mass Communication and the Faculty of Mass Media Communications of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, and the program for development of Multimodal Research Laboratory supervised by Professor Yevgeny Kozhemyakin, the Head of the Division for Communication Studies, Advertising and Public Relations.
“The lecture participants learned how the image of Russia was formed and changed in the Slovak mass media against the background of changes in the social and political life of Slovakia,” said Andrei Polonsky.
The international scientific dialogue provided for new perspectives in joint research.
