From the last year Belgorod State University has moved up to 124th positions in the Webometrics – the global webometric university rating of Cybermetrics research group
In the updated world Webometrics ranking that has been published for 17 years, BelSU occupied the 1579th place among 12 000 universities in the world and 26th place among over 1000 Russian universities.
At the beginning of last year BelSU took the 1703rd place. The highest position among Russian universities was taken by M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University entering the top 200. BelSU improved its performance by two out of three criteria at once. According to the main indicators – “Impact” (Visibility / Impact), the university has moved up from 2001 to 1708 position. This means that the materials published on the university’s website are more often cited by external sources. According to the indicator “Openness”, the position of the university has improved from 1208 to 1018 position.
Considering the results of the rating, the Director of the Center for Publication Activity Development Professor Vladimir Moskovkin noted that the university maintains its growth dynamics in the context of the increasing competition among the leading Russian universities.
“It is important that according to the main indicator – “Impact” the results have been improved. According to other significant assessments, we have a serious growth perspective. The university has recently switched to stimulating the publication of articles in the Q1 and Q2 journals, a large share of which is included in the TOP-10% of Scopus journals,” commented Vladimir Moskovkin.
