The representatives of Belgorod State University presented the report “Bioreactor Technologies as a Key Component of Food Provision for Astronauts in Deep Space” at XXIII International Symposium “Man in Space”
XXIII International Symposium “Man in Space” was held in a mixed format. Both young researchers and reputable scientists from the USA, Russia, China, Germany and other countries took part in the scientific event.
Danil Maklakov, a student of BelSU Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology, made a presentation at the section “Nutrition Problems at Space Flights”.
“I have been developing this topic for almost two years under the guidance of Sergei Nadezhdin, Director of the Cellular, Assisted Reproductive and DNA Technologies Research Laboratory. His laboratory specializes in the latest developments in the field of food products within the framework of REC “Innovative Solutions in the Agri-Business,” explained Danil Maklakov.
Representatives of different countries discussed the prospects for medical support for interplanetary flights, new approaches and concepts to prevent risks of neuroocular syndrome caused by space flights, issues of education and promotion of scientific advances in space medicine and biology.
