Belgorod State University is willing to expand cooperation with the universities of Uzbekistan

During the meeting with BelSU Rector Oleg Polukhin, both parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of higher education. Speaking about close perspective, Oleg Polukhin proposed to increase the number of doctoral students and referred to the fact that out of 355 Uzbek students only 3 students study at BelSU doctoral programs. He also mentioned 20 dissertation councils in 14 scientific areas that are entitled to confer the academic degree of Candidate and Doctors of Sciences as a result of the dissertation defense.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan is a one of the strategic partners of Belgorod State University. Today, among the university’s foreign communities represented by students from 91 countries, Uzbek student community is the most numerous.

The visit of the delegation included a meeting with Uzbek students. Damir Mamatkulov told the young people about the latest changes including those related to measures to support young specialists at home and abroad. He noted that if needed, each student can contact the Embassy for queries.

The representatives of the Embassy were also familiarized with the university’s facilities, the latest achievements and promising areas in the field of education and science.
