Belgorod State University retain its presence in the Times Higher Education ranking

This year the Times Higher Education ranked a record number of higher education institutions – 1662 from 99 countries, which made this rating the most representative in the world. The number of Russian participants also rose to 60. For the first time, the list included all 2 112 universities the data of which was analysed when compiling the ranking.

The leading countries in terms of the number of universities in the top-200 were represented by the USA (57 universities), Great Britain (28), Germany (22), Australia (12), China and the Netherlands (10 each). Russia occupied the 26^th position represented by only one university – Moscow State University, which holds a record-breaking 158^th place.

Along with MSU, the leaders among Russian universities are MTFI (201-250), National Research University Higher School of Economics (301-350), Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (301-350), NRFU MEPhI (401-500) and St. Petersburg Mining University (401-500).
