Oleg Polukhin, BelSU rector presented the university development program on the track "Territorial and industry leadership". The program was presented to the Council for Supporting University Development Programs within the framework of the "Priority-2030" program.
54 Russian universities took part in an additional competition for the distribution of the special part of the grant. The BelSU team for the development program was represented by Oleg Polukhin, BelSU rector, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Belgorod Region Governor, George Medovnikov, Deputy General Director for Marketing and New Projects of PJSC VYMPEL and Alexei Deikin, Head of BelSU Joint Center for Genetic Technologies.
As Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, noted, the Council for Supporting University Development Programs is to make a difficult choice, since it is necessary to take into consideration scientific research and technological leadership, and not the status and merits of universities.
Presenting the development program of BelSU, Oleg Polukhin emphasized the strategic project "Science of the XXI century". This project is closely connected with facing the challenges determined by the transition to a new technological paradigm and aimed at solving the problems of the metallurgical industry, developing personalized medicine, as well as addressing environmental issues, related to the disposal of agri-business complex waste, mining and metallurgical complex and other sectors of the national economy.
The expected result of the strategic project implementation is the university's entry into the TOP-300 world subject rankings in materials science, genetics, bio- and ecogeotechnologies and an increase in the volume of R&D by 2.5 times.
The winners of the additional competition within the framework of the "Priority-2030" program will be shortly announced.
