BelSU scientists received awards for their innovations at the interregional exhibition

The 26th specialized interregional exhibition was arranged with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Department of the Agro-Industrial Cluster and the Reproduction of the Environment of the Belgorod region and Belgorod Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In the field of livestock breeding BelSU established new bioactive animal feed supplement for mycotoxin neutralization.

According to Ulyana Krut, Deputy Director of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology, Candidate of Biology Sciences, this new product is notable for its low cost, high sorptivity and ease of use and storage.

Another manufacturing technology, awarded within the exhibition, was organo-mineral fertilizers manufacturing technology based on gypsum-containing waste of industrial plants.

Ivan Nikulin Director of BelSU Engineering Centre, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences noted that this way of recycling can halve detrimental impurity content and the resulted fertilizer facilitates the staple crops yield increase by 10-25%

One more innovation, established and rewarded within the exhibition, was the manufacturing technology of yogurt containing nanostructurized nettle dry extract.

As Nina Myachikova Head of the Department for General Chemistry and Food Technology, Candidate of Technical Sciences said, nettle is a bioactive substance-rich plant, full of vitamins and mineral substances.

The implementation of nanostructurized components will help producers to expand their range of fermented milk products and maintain its organoleptic properties.

The innovations established at the exhibition correspond to the World-class Scientific and Educational Center “Innovative Solutions in the Agro-Industrial Complex” priorities.
