An inauguration of Vladimir Kulikovsky memorial classroom took place on the Day of His Remembrance as Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, the first director of the BelSU Institute of Medicine
Among the guests of the inauguration ceremony there were representatives of the university administration, the health department, construction companies, professors, employees, students, colleagues, and relatives of Vladimir Kulikovsky.
Oleg Polukhin, BelSU rector emphasized that the memorial classroom was a tribute to the memory of the RF Honored Doctor, whose tireless work became the engine for development of the entire Belgorod region health care system.
“Until the end of his lifetime, he took care of the training of highly skilled medical personnel, while remaining a practicing surgeon, conducted research and nurtured a galaxy of students who follow his trade with dignity. One of the achievements of Vladimir Kulikovsky is the formation of five dissertation boards at the Institute of Medicine and the invitation to the scientific leadership of seven academicians”, said Oleg Polukhin.
Archpriest Oleg Kobets, Rector of the Transfiguration Cathedral underlined the outstanding human qualities of Vladimir Kulikosky.
Marina Baranova, the daughter of Vladimir Kulikovsky, thanked everyone involved in the inauguration of the memorial classroom. Oleg Golovchenko, city council deputy, chief physician of Promedika network of clinics, noted that Dr. Kulikovsky was a combination of practical health care with academic science.
Andrei Ikonnikov, Head of the Belgorod region health department, and Nikolai Belousov, Director of the Institute of Medicine, also said a lot of kind words about Dr. Kulikovsky. Cutting of the symbolic red ribbon became culmination of the event.
A tour of the memorial classroom, reflecting the main milestones in the life of Vladimir Kulikovsky, was led by Andrei Yarosh, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medicine.
