BelSU Geological and Mineralogical Museum named after A.N. Petin was replenished with an exclusive sample of ammonite with simbircite stone on a calcite base
Alexander Mamatov, BelSU Vice-Rector for Educational Activities, Vladimir Gerashchenko, Vice-Rector for Administrative Work, Ignat Ignatenko, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences and students attended the event.
A solemn ceremony of the transfer of a unique sample – an ammonite shell of the genus Speetoniceras with hydrostatic chambers filled with the Volga variety of calcite – simbircite –was carried out by Yuri Osetrov, Chair of the Regional Branch Council of A Just Russia party in the Belgorod region. On behalf of Sergei Mironov, he expressed appreciation to the management and the teaching staff of the university for the warm welcome in August.
In return, Alexander Mamatov, on behalf of Professor Oleg Polukhin, BelSU Rector thanked Sergei Mironov for such a valuable exhibit.
In August, during a working visit to the Belgorod Region, Sergei Mironov spoke at BelSU and promised to transfer a valuable exhibit to BelSU Geological and Mineralogical Museum.
According to Tatyana Lipnitskaya, Director of BelSU Geological and Mineralogical Museum, this exhibit became a pleasant gift to the museum for its 5th anniversary.
