Participants of the International Academic and Research Meeting organized by Russian Academy of Education (RAE) and BelSU discussed the development of neurotechnologies and artificial intelligence
Sergey Malykh, the RAE member, noted that one of the most promising neurotechnology areas is development of neuroelectronic interfaces, which is the combination of the human brain and computers. He suggested the speakers to comment on the issue.
Andrey Afonin, a researcher at BelSU Center for Neurotechnology, said that bionic prostheses and exoskeletons have already been developed based on the brain-computer interface. Besides, neurointerfaces are used in education to improve cognitive functions.
Herman Nemirovsky, Professor at Faculty of Computer Science of German University Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen, and Rustam Asadullaev, Head of AI Department at Centerprogramsystem, presented an overview of neural networks for the analysis of neurophysiological data and showed how AI methods can be used in such analysis with specific examples.
The report of Marina Ananyeva, a researcher at BelSU Center for Neurotechnology, was devoted to neurofitness and its application in various fields of activity: clinical practice, to improve human cognitive abilities, therapy of psychological and psychosomatic disorders.
Lyudmila Tokarskaya, Ph.D. in Psychology, presented a project with VR technologies applied. Ilya Zakharov, a researcher at RAE Laboratory of Age-related Psychogenetics, spoke about how accurate brain research is and what is the level of reproducibility of the results obtained.
Maria Sitnikova, Director of BelSU Center for Neurotechnology, summing up the event, stressed that the future of neurotechnology largely depends on the attitude of society.
For reference: The meeting brought together more than 50 participants whose field of activity or scientific interests are related to modern neurotechnologies. Among them are members of Russian Academy of Education, students and scientists of BelSU Faculty of Psychology, researchers of the Laboratory of Age-related Psychogenetics, scientists of the University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen and UFU.
