The projects by young scientists from BelSU were marked with gold medal at the RosBioTech competition

The results of the first stage of the XV Russian Innovation Competition “RosBioTech” was held in Moscow. The university centres and enterprises from 12 regions of Russia participated in the competition. The competition committee headed by RAS Member Andrey Lisitsyn selected 35 developments that were marked with gold medals, including 6 belonging to the BelSU scientists.

One of the gold medals was awarded to the research group headed by Professor Mikhail Pokrovsky, Director of the Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems for the development of raw materials to be applied in recombinant drugs for genetic diseases treatment. Those include spinal muscular atrophy, Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases, blood diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, etc.

Four projects by BelSU Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology won gold medals at “RosBioTech-2021” contest including “Composition and Technology of Lactoferrin Based Medicine” (project by Professor Elena Zhilyakova, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology); “Development of Bioactive Sorption Composition for Neutralising Mycotoxins in Farm Animal Feed (project by Ulyana Krut, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology); “Method of Producing Yoghurt Containing Nanostructured Dry Extract of Boswellia” (project by Nina Myachikova, the Head of Food Technology Department, and Alexander Krolevets, the Head of the Laboratory for Synthesis of Micro- and Nanostructures, PEI VPO “ROSI”); “Method of Obtaining Nutritious Lactose-Free Milk” (project by Professor Victor Deineka).

The gold medal was also awarded to the robotic unit for comprehensive disinfection of working surface of medical equipment (project by Vladislav Dubrova, a student of the Belgorod State University Medical Institute).
