The development by BelSU scientists was awarded a gold medal at the Invention Exhibition in Hong Kong

Belgorod State University presented the advanced developments as a part of the Russian exposition at the International Exhibition of Inventions and Design “IIDC 2021” in Hong Kong. The gold medal was awarded to the project on production of a mycotoxin-neutral cattle feed additive.

According to Ulyana Krut, an Associate Professor of Biotechnology and Microbiology Department, the mycotoxins potentially contained in food can lead to health deterioration of pets: weight loss, loss of cubs and contamination of livestock products. The feed additive created by BelSU scientists is versatile, i.e. it can be used to protect poultry, small and big cattle.

The expert commission marked the feed additive competitive advantages – low cost due to the use of biotechnological production waste as raw material, high sorption capacity (at least 400 mg/g sorbate), as well as ease of use and simple storage conditions.
